Apple in a surprising move seems to have skipped releasing models based on Intel’s new platform “Santa Rosa”, instead choosing to stick with its existing platform. Despite this fact, the newly updated Macbooks now come with a range of faster C2D processors, 1 GB of RAM and 80-120 GB hard drives.
The Macbooks are now available in 3 different models. The 2.0 GHz and 2.16 GHz models are available in white while there is a special black model that has a similar speed of 2.16 GHz. Apart from these speed differences, all the Macbooks have common features such as the iSight video camera, draft 802.11n support and come equipped with the current version of Mac OS X 10.4.9.
The 2.0GHz 13.3 base MacBook is available for a cost of $1,099 and comes with an 80GB hard drive and a slot-loading Combo drive. The faster 2.16GHz white MacBook comes with a 120GB hard drive and a slot-load 8x SuperDrive. Finally the special black 2.16GHz 13-inch black MacBook has a 160GB drive and a slot-load 8x SuperDrive and is available for $1, 499.
