New Line Gains Gears of War Movie Rights

Here’s some good news for all you Gears of War fans—New Line Cinema has acquired the rights to make a film based on Microsoft & Epic’s Gears of War. For those of you who don’t remember, New Line Cinema was the studio behind the Mortal Kombat movie, which was devoid of any kind of story and driven primarily by some over-the-top fight sequences (which could get kind of annoying at times). Lets hope that they do a better job this time, and do this franchise justice. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of Locusts being chainsawed.
