While Motorola is known to be offering price cut for its Moto 360, here’s another leak suggesting a successor is on its way. Now, a new image leaked on Weibo shows the Moto 360 2 with a round design and thin bezels.
Going by the leaked image, there’s the possibility that the company may replace the plastic with metal for the Moto 360 2. It also speculated to feature a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels compared to the Moto 360’s 320x290 pixels. The metal design would ensure a more durable watch.
A recent report revealed that the Moto 360 smartwatch will have Wi-Fi connectivity and a higher-resolution screen. It is also said to be made available with a wider selection of materials for both the case and the strap.
Soon after the release of the Apple Watch , we’ve seen Google sprucing up Android Wear while Motorola has been adding a dash of style to its Moto 360 . By replacing plastic with metal, improving the display quality and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, further hint at Motorola working on a solid Apple Watch competitor.
In fact, Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing had ‘accidentally’ posted the pictures of its upcoming Moto 360 on Weibo earlier and subsequently pulled them off. Those ‘accidentally’ leaked images also carried a quote that read, “Moto 360, matching the arrival of the era of freedom, in the future we want to increase the store features a watch shop.”
This next-generation Moto 360 is expected to launch before the end of 2015.
