Customers can buy the new iPad Wi-Fi models in black or white for Rs 30,500 for the 16GB model, Rs 36,500 for the 32GB model and Rs 42,500 for the 64GB model. The iPad Wi-Fi + 4G models will be available for Rs 38,900 for the 16GB model, Rs 44,900 for the 32GB model and Rs 50,900 for the 64GB model.

According to a report in Telcom Tiger, Apple has also slashed prices of iPad 2, which can now be had at a price starting Rs 24,500 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi model and Rs 32,900 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model.

With the gawking Retina Display and the quad-core graphics, does the new iPad make a compelling argument for a purchase? If you are an iPad 2 owner, the changes in the new iPad more or less leave you with the similar user experience unless you're really dissatisfied with the screen on the iPad 2. For people using the "other" tablets, is this new iPad offering enough to make you a convert?

Well, if you passed on the iPad 2 to get a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Asus Transformer, then the new iPad is certainly not going to tickle your fancy. The current viable option available on the market is the Asus Transformer Prime. Later this year, we can expect Microsoft's Windows 8 to make some noise as well.
