New HTC smartphone prototype surfaces - HTC Holiday

Pictures of HTC’s new smartphone, named Holiday have been leaked on the XDA Developer Forums, according to Slashgear. While the pictures tell only a part of the story, the forum has also revealed a few specs HTC’s new Holiday might include.

The HTC Holiday will have a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.5-inch qHD display with a pixel resolution of 960 x 540. It will come with 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel camera in the front along with Bluetooth 3.0. The California sticker, in the picture above, might just seem to be part of a pretty ugly cover for the phone but what’s interesting is the conductive charging port attached to the back, which indicates that the phone could possibly be plugged into a ‘different-sort-of’ charger stand.

While the device screen does look completely smashed in the pictures above, the hardware information does give a sneak peak of the features the phone will be loaded with. The HTC Holiday does seem seem to boast of great hardware; however, it doesn’t really hold its own against the current HTC phones (HTC Sensation, Evo 3D) in any way whatsoever. HTC will need to do some serious rethinking and implementation, besides the form factor, if they are to capture the attention of potential phone buyers.
