HTC is back in the news, but this time due to more images of its upcoming phablet, the HTC One Max, being leaked. Some images leaked by ePrice via its Weibo account shows the phablet besides the company’s current flagship, the HTC One. The images show the front and back panels, and we even get a peek at the underside of the rear panel.
It definitely looks like the HTC One max will be a bigger version of its sibling, the One. PhoneArena also reports that there will be a dual-SIM version of the phone targeting markets in Asia and Eastern Europe, and this version seems to be the one pictured in the leaked images—the rear panel is removable just like the dual-SIM version of the HTC One. There is currently no information about whether the single-SIM version will sport a unibody design.

The speculation and leaks surrounding HTC’s upcoming offering have been considerable, and everything so far points to the phablet coming with the latest hardware. The first thing you’ll notice is its size: the One Max is said to sport a massive 5.9-inch, full HD, LCD3 display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The phablet may also come with an UltraPixel digital camera as well as a 2.1-megapixel front shooter. It is pegged to come with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC as well as 2GB of RAM. Also rumoured are 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot and either a 3200mAh or 3300mAh battery.
So far, all reports point to a launch date later in the year, but there is a good chance the One Max may be seen as early as September 4 at IFA in Berlin. So mark your calendar, because September is definitely a good one for smartphones and HTC is not the only one eying those dates for its devices.
