Google is all set to roll out the new Google Maps to all users now. The new Maps experience which was unveiled during Google I/O last May had been in preview mode for this long and is now set to be rolled out worldwide in the coming weeks.   In a post on the Google Latlong blog, Brian McClendon, VP of Google Maps, announced that the company is starting to roll out the new Maps on to desktops the world over after being in preview mode for nearly a year. He said that the feedback generated by early adopters over the past month has been of great help to Google, which has tried to make the experience a better one for all users.   With the new Google Maps, you will simply be able to search for places around you using keywords like Coffee or Baker. The map will show you not just search results and snippets but also show you suggested results that you may not know of.   Maps will also now show you more efficient routes to reach your destination faster compared to the earlier version, including information about the time and distance on each route. The real time traffic reports and Street View previews will also try and help you commute better and faster. Google Maps’ imagery will also let you check out landmarks in 3D and sneak peeks of businesses you may visit. There’s a carousel of images placed at the bottom of the screen for you to pick and choose your view from too.   Google’s Maps experience had been slightly less than complete when it was first launched during the I/O and therefore the company made the service opt-in. Initially it dropped important features like **multi-destination trips** with the revamp. In October, Google added the feature back after high user demand, making it easy for users to add multi-destination trips while surfing the new Maps. Google also announced in November that it was now possible to **embed the new Maps** on your websites and blogs.

She also obsesses about ACP Pradyuman and South Park and you will always find her moving around with a book. Her focus is on all the happening stuff in the tech domain, and she won't hesitate to take a shot at some of the oddball devices that make their way to our labs. see more
