New Google Blogger Gets Privacy Settings

Google has revised its blogger service, to include privacy settings, features such as photos, lists and feeds for Google blog users. The new version of Google Blog will also allow users to customize their pages with different options for colour, fonts and ‘drag and drop’ page elements.

In addition, the new version of Google Blog has more feed options, to include a feed for all the comments on a user’s blog, and even individual feeds for all the comments on each separate post. Google has also added support for the RSS 2.0 and Atom 1.0 standards.

The new dashboard aims to make it easier to check the user’s own blog activity and offers a one-click access to the most common blog management tasks. Moreover, when users make a new post or change a setting, the blog is automatically updated, and changes go live immediately, without having to republish the post.

Another important change, made in the new Google Blog, is the addition of privacy settings. Bloggers may now make their posts private, by selecting from the options, ‘Anybody’ and ‘Only readers I choose’, under the new privacy settings. Bloggers may add as many readers to their ‘allowed’ lists, using their email addresses. Also, users may sign in to Google Blogger using their Google accounts, instead of their separate blog account.
