Just a few weeks after Facebook introduced the new Reactions, a new browser extension for Chrome and Firefox has been released which lets users swap the standard emojis in yellow with sets of custom reactions, including sets of Pokémon or Donald Trump.
Developer Rodney Folz created an extension called Reaction Packs , that allows users to use their choice of reaction pack and replace it with Facebook’s default emojis. However, the reactions remain the same, such as Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, and Angry. The set also includes Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau-themed emoji.
Last month, the Facebook rolled out “Reactions” – an extension of the “Like” button – worldwide, to allow users to express sadness, wow, anger, love and laughter. Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said in September last year that the company was thinking of adding a “dislike” button, which spearheaded a debate over whether it would increase cyber bullying and negativity on the site. In October, the company said it would expand its signature “Like” button with various reactions.
The company said it will also use “Reactions” to track user behavior and for ad delivery. The feature has received mixed reviews from users on social networking sites. “We will initially use any Reaction similar to a Like to infer that you want to see more of that type of content,” Facebook had stated in a separate blog post.
