 "New DmC: Devil May Cry video shows gameplay as Vergil")
Capcom has released a new trailer for DmC: Devil May Cry. The video gives us a glimpse of what playing as Vergil would be like in the upcoming reboot of the franchise. Judging from the video, Vergil seems to be faster than Dante.
Much like the playable Vergil from Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, this Vergil also doesn’t use any guns. Many abilities from his previous incarnation are coming back, such as having magical swords surround him to damage enemies. It is also worth noting that unlike Dante’s ability to pull himself to enemies and objects in this game, Vergil simply teleports to them. It is not clear how Vergil will do when it comes to Dante’s demon powers of pulling enemies and objects to himself. Vergil is set to be a playable character for the game’s DLC, Fall of Vergil.
Capcom recently announced the Fall of Vergil DLC, which will be released after the game is out. The DLC will let you play as Dante’s twin brother Vergil. It is set to cost 720 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and Rs 633 on PlayStation 3.
Earlier this month, Capcom released another video that showed DmC’s gameplay and some more bits and pieces of the story. According to the trailer, Dante and Vergil are the sons of the demon Sparda and the angel Eva. Vergil states in the trailer that the sons of angels and demons, called Nephelims, are the only ones who can kill the demon king. The trailer also shows some gameplay, including some new weapons, both scythes, as well as some new enemies.
Recently, Capcom announced the release date for the PC version of the game. The PC version is set to come out on January 25, 2013—a full ten days after the release of the console versions. Capcom has also announced the hardware requirements to run the game.

The PC version is set to have all the bells and whistles you’d expect, including compatibility with both keyboard+mouse configurations aand support for direct input-based controllers. It will also be capable of running at 60 frames per second and beyond, depending on your hardware. The game will be released through Steam, which will let you use SteamCloud to save progress, along with Steam’s other features, like achievements, friend support and leaderboards.
The protagonist Dante looks a lot different this time around, which initially caused much ire among long-time fans of the series. He used to have long white hair and carried a sword, named Rebellion, about as big as himself in the earlier games, but in the reboot, developer Ninja Theory seems to have given him more of a teenage look with short black hair. An interesting thing to note is Dante’s new weapon. The sword seems to be extendable and flexible, like a whip. The level design seems to take advantage of this with platforming segments that require Dante to pull platforms to him or swing to another platform by using his sword.
The console versions of DmC: Devil May Cry will be released on January 15, 2013.
