From storytelling to investigating crimes, we saw a slew of interesting apps and games being launch this week. If you’ve missed on what’s new, then here’s a quick recap. Adobe Voice for iPad Adobe Voice is a new animated video app for iPad that gives anyone the ability to create and share engaging video stories. It lets you use a combination of your recorded voice, imagery, music and cinema-quality motion graphics and effects. Users can take a look at some sample videos, choose from a vast resource of themes, music, images, icons and themes. Adobe Voice is now available for download for free from the Apple App Store and leverages Adobe Creative Cloud to deliver a completely new iPad app experience. It requires iPad 2 or higher and iOS 7. Take a look at the video below that shows how an entrepreneur uses the app to connect with customers:
Yahoo News Digest The all new Yahoo News Digest app presents users with 10 or so algorithmically generated news stories from Yahoo’s network. The stories appear twice a day - once in the morning, and once in the evening, mimicking how people read newspapers in the morning and afternoon. The app displays stories in brief with chunks of text, photos, maps, tweets, and other visual elements. Users can also check a day’s stories with a simple swipe. The Yahoo News Digest is available for download for free from the Apple App store. Godzilla Strike Zone This week we also saw the new Godzilla-based web game called ‘Strike Zone’ created by Warner Bros. and legendary Pictures. The game reportedly has some plot spoilers, so users could wait to watch the movie before playing the game. The gameplay involves rescuing civilians from a ruined city. Those who can’t wait any longer to play this game, download it from the Apple App store or Google Play store. CSI: Hidden Crimes The new crime scene investigation game CSI: Hidden Crimes is now available for mobile devices. Set in the world of CBS’s hit show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, it features cases written by CSI writer Jack Gutowitz, reveals developer Ubisoft. Players get into the shoes of a new detective and help the CSI crew fight crime in Las Vegas. It currently has eight episodes, and others will be unlocked soon. iOS and Android users can download the game from and Google Play store, respectively. The newest is a called Retry by renowned game maker Rovio. Now, Retry isn’t exactly a Flappy Bird clone but reportedly quite inspired by the game. It comes with similar 8-bit graphics, but one has to control an airplane. Like Flappy Bird, if the plane touches anything at all, the game is over. It is currently a soft launch and available via Apple App store only for select regions. An Android version of the game is expected soon. Cinamatic Cinamatic is a simple video app that brings Hipstamatic-like experience to videos. It allows users to create short video clips that can be up to 15 seconds long and shot in bursts, just like Vine videos. Users can then choose a filter and share the creation via Vine, Instagram, Facebook, and so on. It isn’t a free app and costs $1.99, which includes a range of preset filters. Users can purchase additional filters for a price ranging from $0.99 to $3.99. iOS users can download the app from Apple App store.
