New Angry Birds game coming soon to fill the Flappy Bird-sized void in your life

Rovio, creators of the superhit Angry Birds gaming franchise, took to Twitter to tease a new installment in the series. While we haven’t heard too much about a new Angry Birds game in the recent past, the company could not have made an announcement at a better time. As casual gamers around the world are still reeling from the sudden death of Flappy Bird , a new Angry Birds game could just be the remedy the doctor ordered.  Rovio followed up the above tweet saying it would announce the name and more details about the game tomorrow. The company has been using the hashtag ~#~NewAngryBirds to promote the game, so you would do well to save that search if you are hankering for some more Angry Birds action.   The image posted with the original tweet shows coloured silhouettes of different kinds of birds. Some of them seem familiar based on their general outline, but it remains to be seen if any popular birds from previous Angry Birds installments make their way to the new game. Although given Rovio’s claim of new birds in the upcoming game, we expect at least some new ones to be seen.   Of course, not all of Rovio’s Angry Birds attempts have landed on the mark. Last year, we saw the launch of Angry Birds Go, which earned notoriety for having some of the most expensive in-app purchases we have seen on any app. With some items being sold for the price of a budget smartphone , it was no surprise that the game didn’t do too well on the app charts. Let’s hope that whatever Rovio has planned for the new Angry Birds game, doesn’t involve a similar system.
