Author Neil Gaiman had announced back in July that he is working on a game along with studio The Old Gentleman. The game, titled The Wayward Manor, now has a teaser trailer that gives us a short glimpse at the game with its whimsical art style infused with a gothic setting. The art style of the game is quite reminiscent of Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Check it out:

In Wayward Manor, the main character is dead and haunting a house, and the aim of the game is to scare away all of the inhabitants of the manor. How players go around doing this is up to them, as the game will give them all the tools and tricks they will ever need to accomplish such a task.

Could be a uniquely fun game

The game is available for pre-order on the official website . Pre-orders for the title follow an interesting method, however. It has been listed as a bunch of Kickstarter-styled pre-purchase options where the more money you pay, the more rewards you will get. While the cheapest option costs $10 and will get you a digital copy of the game on the platform of your choice, the most expensive of these options costs $10,000. The reward, apart from the game, poster, soundtrack and other goodies, will be a dinner with Neil Gaiman in Los Angeles.

The game is being published by Moonshark, and will be making its way to Windows, Mac and mobile devices. It still doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, but we expect it to be available some time in 2014.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
