A new trailer for the movie adaptation of Need for Speed has popped up, and it gives us a better look at what the plot will involve. The story revolves around Tobey, a car mechanic who was wrongfully imprisoned for a couple of years for somebody else’s crime. After getting out of jail, he quickly starts planning revenge on those who framed him. In the NFS world, this means lots of illegal street racing. Check out the trailer:
The Need for Speed movie is set to hit the big screen in February 2014. It is being written by George Gatnis and produced by his brother John of Red Steel fame. It is directed by Scott Waugh (Act of Valor).
Need For Speed is the first major project expenditure DreamWorks has made since the company came out of suspended animation while waiting for Reliance to invest cash in a re-up. The studio acquired the movie rights for the Need for Speed series back in June, 2012. There is no indication of why the movie was fast tracked. EA and DreamWorks explained during their joint announcement that the film adaptation would be “a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise”.

“Let’s make some meth… no wait… wrong script…”
The next game in the franchise is Need for Speed: Rivals, which is hitting stores tomorrow. It will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The PlayStation 4 version has already been released.
Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
