One of EA’s biggest releases this year was the critically panned Medal of Honor: Warfighter. EA had said that the company got help from soldiers to make the game more realistic. According to Eurogamer , the soldiers who were helping the company with the game are now facing disciplinary action.

The soldiers, who are Navy SEALs, have been accused of revealing classified information, as well as breaking the unwritten code of the SEALs that they are supposed to avoid the spotlight.

“A non-judicial punishment hearing was conducted yesterday, Nov. 7 and seven Naval Special Warfare (NSW) personnel faced administrative proceedings. An additional NSW investigation is ongoing to determine if more personnel may be involved,” Polygon was told by the US Department of State.

EXPLOSIONS!

Navy SEALs are now facing punishment for helping with the game

“They are being charged with violation of Article 92: Orders violation, misuse of command gear and violation of Article 92: Dereliction of duty, disclosure of classified material. Two Senior Chief Special Operators and five Chief Special Operators received the punishment. They received a punitive letter of reprimand and forfeiture of half-a-month’s pay for two months.”

When asked for comment on the situation, EA told Polygon, “We do not know if the veterans who consulted on the game were in contact with the Department of Defense.”

Written by actual US Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas, Medal of Honor Warfighter attempted to deliver this year’s most authentic military shooter experience inspired by real people, real places and real operations. Medal of Honor Warfighter features genuine international hotspots in the single player campaign and introduces international Tier 1 Operators in multiplayer allowing players to show their national pride online.

One of the biggest features of the multiplayer in Medal of Honor: Warfighter is Fireteams. EA had demonstrated the use of Fireteams in a trailer released back in August. The trailer also shows off more of the multiplayer, which looks like it’ll be filled with explosions all over the maps. The Fireteam system seems to have some things in common with the Battlefield squad system. According to EA, “Your fireteam partner serves as your closest mate on the battlefield. Your fireteam buddy supplies you with ammo and serves as a spawn point, providing a significant strategic advantage.”

Along with Need for Speed: Most Wanted, the PlayStation 3 version of Warfighter had been delayed . Instead of the original release date of the game, October 26, the game was released on October 31. Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita was delayed by three days, so instead of the original release date for the games on November 2, both versions of Most Wanted were released on November 5. The PC version of Most Wanted had been delayed even further and was released on November 9.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
