Sony’s incredibly thin Z2 Tablet is finally official. Unveiled at the MWC 2014, the Z2 Tablet is touted to be an iPad Air-killer with mere 6.4mm thickness and superior features. It comes with a 10.1-inch Live Color LED display that promises to offer the widest color gamut of any mobile device, also seen in the Z2 smartphone. Moreover it also powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM, just like its flagship smartphone. It runs on the latest version of the OS i.e. Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Tipping the scale at mere, it gets an all-glass and button-free front design. The company has moved the speakers to the front with a new S-Force Surround Sound setup. Just like the Z2 smartphone, the tablet also supports digital noise cancelling feature when used with the MDR NC31EM headset. On the camera front, it gets an 8-megapixel rear snapper. Like most of the high-end Sony devices, the Z2 Tablet is waterproof (rated to IP55 and IP58 standards). It is fueled by a massive 6,000 mAh battery. The tablet brings support for some Sony’s exclusive apps and services too. The company is also offering some accessories that users need to buy separately including a charging dock. The Xperia Z2 Tablet is expected to be available in the UK and wider Europe in March.
