Lenovo has announced three new S series smartphones - S860, S850 and S660. These budget smartphones come with prolonged battery life, quad-core processor and large screen viewing. Lenovo has also added its newly announced Doit suite of apps which include handy features such as Wi-Fi sharing, security and performance, backup and photo management. Starting with the Lenovo S860, the highlight of the device is its one day of battery life, allowing 24 hours of talk time and the ability to charge other devices off the phone via microUSB port. It features a 5.3-inch screen IPS display with 1,280x720 pixel resolution and 16GB onboard storage. The S860 is powered by a quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM (chipset not mentioned). On the camera front, it gets an 8MP rear snapper and a 1.6MP front-facing camera. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and the company reportedly plans for KitKat update in the future. Sporting an all-glass design, the S850 is the thin and light mid-ranger. It comes with almost similar specs as the S860. The 5-inch display features 1,280x720 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, along with 1GB of RAM. It comes fitted with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. Next in the lineup is the S660 sporting a 5-inch display. The S660 focusses on style with a slim profile, a brushed metal design and lightweight glass construction. The S660 also promises all-day battery life. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor along with 1GB of RAM. Other features include 8MP rear camera, 0.3MP camera, 8Gn onboard storage and expandable memory slot up to 32GB. Likely to be hit store shelves in June, the Lenovo S860, S850 and S660 are priced at $349, $269 and $229, which translates to Rs 21,600, Rs 16,600 and Rs 14,200 respectively. Like most of Lenovo smartphones, these also could make their way into India soon.
