The FAQ sheet of the Mumbai Metro that flagged off last month had clearly stated that it plans to keep up with advancing tech and will provide Wi-Fi hotspots to commuters. Looks like, it has delivered on its promise.
Those passengers who are often glued on to their screens on their commute will be glad to know that the Mumbai Metro is now offering free Wi-Fi in the trains and stations. Users can avail of the service for free for the first 15 minutes and then on it will cost Rs 100 for 180 hours. Mumbai Metro has also tweeted from its official account announcing the new service. Free Wi-Fi hotspots has been on the agenda of many Indian cities. Earlier this year, MTNL had promised to provide affordable 8 Mbps public Wi-Fi in Mumbai, Delhi, but there is no show yet. Recently, Reliance Jio announced to offer free Wi-Fi hotspots in select locations in Gujarat.
