MTNL and BSNL slash tariff for domestic roaming to Re 1 for incoming calls and 40 paise for outgoing calls within any visiting network.

State run telecom companies, MTNL and BSNL have slashed tariff for domestic roaming, to Re 1 for incoming calls and 40 paise for outgoing calls within any visiting network. The new tariff plan is as part of a new post-paid scheme, effective from June 3.

While the monthly rental for the plan has been fixed at Rs. 550, subscribers will be eligible for 300 minutes of free talk time for receiving calls. However, outgoing calls to networks outside the visiting state will be charged at Re 1 instead of 40 paise.

BSNL also introduced its new calling card, Callnow, which will allow users to make ISD calls to the US and Canada at Rs 1.75 per minute and to the Gulf countries at Rs 6.75 per minute. The card is available for Rs 2,000.
