MS goes retro with Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft must be feeling extremely nostalgic these days as they have now added retro games to the list of downloadable content available on Xbox live. These games will be available from today till the 19th of August and will cost anything between $5 and $10. As part of this program, an old game from years gone by will be out every week and the schedule goes something like this: July 12 - Frogger July 19 - Cloning Clyde July 26 - Galaga August 2 - Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting August 9 - Pac-Man According to Greg Canessa, the group program manager for Xbox Live Arcade, “A good game never dies, our strategy is to pick the best games, just the cream of the crop, ones with evergreen game mechanics that never got old.”

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
