The ongoing MP3 Mela at Xplore lounge, Mumbai presents a gamut of choices for the Indian consumer, looking for a pocketful of music. The mela, which continues till 20th may, displayed MP3 players across 15 brands such as Sony, Apple, Creative , SanDisk, Samsung, Genius, Intex, Transcend and included lesser known brands such as Cowan, Yes, E-Pro, Supercom, Worldtec, Gmax and Gemini.
The event showcased products such as MP3-cum-watches, the smallest MP3 player and the first touch screen MP3 player in the market. Although visitors will not be able to buy the products off the shelf at the Mela, the explore team directs visitors to the concerned dealers, with whom the products are available.
Kaushal Khandor, VP, Corporate, said, “The objective of the mela is to create a platform for Indian consumers, to see and feel the different products, before choosing the right one. We offer more options and choices across different price ranges to help the consumer make an informed decision.”
He also said that emerging trends in the MP3 player market point at consumer demand for better looking designs and more storage capacity. The other two features that consumers look for in MP3 players are user friendly interface and good sound quality.
Joe DSilva, business manager said, “We will soon have other such events in the coming months, such as the Apple exhibition, the Laptop carnival and the digital photography showcase in the coming weeks. Also, we plan to conduct a series of educational programs and seminars to create awareness among consumers.”
