The first release candidate for Firefox 2.0 was available on 26 September, while the second was released on 6 October, after additional input and bug reports from users. According to reports, the Mozilla foundation is already working on the next version of the browser, Firefox 3.0. The company has kickstarted a ‘Feature Brainstorming’ wiki page for internet users, last week, to allow them to contribute with their ideas on the next version. Mike Schroepfer, vice president of engineering for the Mozilla Foundation told Techworld, “Anybody who has a good idea and wants to participate can enter their comments on the wiki page. We’re just looking for as wide a range of feedback as people want to give. We’ve generally tried to solicit ideas in the past. It’s part of how we work in general.” With regard to the release of Firefox 3.0, Schroepfer said they are working towards releasing it late next year.
