Motorola X Phone may sport a 1.7 Ghz quad-core processor

Lots of rumours around Motorola’s mysterious X Phone have been flying around in recent times. The latest piece of information we have, courtesy of Droid Life, gives us what seems to be more concrete information on the handset.

The information was revealed through an FCC report. Apparently, the model number of the handset will be XT1058 and it will be equipped with bands for the telecom services of AT&T. For connectivity, it will be equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 and a Wi-Fi antenna capable of connecting to 802.11ac bands. Like all other high-end handsets, the X Phone will also have NFC capability.

The first handset to truly come from the union of Google and Motorola has leaked earlier, and recently, there was another AnTuTu benchmark test that pointed to its existence. We have seen plenty of benchmark leaks in the past in relation to the X phone, but it must be noted that these scores can be faked easily. The latest AnTuTu benchmark score comes from Japanese blog Ameblo and shows a phone codenamed obake_verizon; the score and specs are similar to the previous leak. This phone too has the same model number as the Motorola XT1055, which also appeared on the AnTuTu site earlier.

Through that rumour, we also learnt that the XT1055 smartphone is codenamed Ghost. Interestingly, obake is sometimes translated from the native Japanese as ghost, which indicates that the X phone might be headed to Verizon as well as AT&T. This is in line with an even older speculation that the X phone will be launching on all major US carriers. Moreover, both benchmark scores show the device powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz processor and running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
