Motorola has announced its new entertainment Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)—the MOTOROKR E6. The E6 is designed as an entertainment handset as well as a productivity enhancer, to enhance the lifestyles of professionals on the go.
Motorokr E6 is the first Motorola handset in India to offer Music ID and Screen 3 applications. Music ID is a Song Identification service that enables a user to identify the artist and album information of songs being played in the immediate surroundings. When the user captures music being played on the handset, the application sends this information to a server over GPRS, to match the song with its existing library and transmits relevant information back to the user. Screen 3 is a live news and information streaming service, which can stream live feeds into a handset while user has the option to get brief information about the feed or get full stories on the handset.
With Motorokr E6, Motorola claims to have created the thinnest, slickest entertainment PDA ever. Other features include a super-sized 2.4" 240x320 TFT Touch Window screen, a first in a mobile handset, which allows users complete access to any of the E6's functions in seconds. The model also features a 2 mega-pixel camera with 8x digital zoom, 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, dedicated music keys, and a removable SD card memory slot. CIF and QVGA video capture for up to 5 hours; full screen video playback, integrated MP3 player with dedicated music keys and built-in FM radio, PDA featuring Business Card Reader, POP3 e-mail, Document Viewer to view PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT are some of its other features. Connectivity includes Integrated Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology, HTML Browser, Hi-Speed USB 2.0 EMU, 3.5 mm stereo jack.
The E6 supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, RA, WAV, MIDI, AMR-NB and AMR-WB as well as wireless Bluetooth stereo headphones. Representatives say MOTOROKR E6's handwriting recognition software is the fastest way to enter text for Indian users and can be used with any of the E6’s productivity tools. Users can check email on the go with the E6's internet e-mail client, or keep track of time and appointments with the Calendar and To-Do Lists, then sync it all with the user’s PC with Motorola Phone Tools.
Motorola's Malcolm Dawe, Vice President & General Manager, Motorola India Mobile Devices said, "Not everyone used to be able to master and enjoy the many experiences that a multimedia handset could offer, but with the Motorokr E6 all this has changed. The E6 has been specifically designed to create superior experiences around video, music, games, and photos. Whether you want to capture special moments on camera, listen to music anytime, anywhere, play games or movies, or even check your e-mail while on the go, the E6 makes it all simple and easy."
