Motorola to reveal Moto G India launch details on February 5

In spite of Motorola **confirming** an early January launch for the Moto G in India, it has been no show so far. Here’s another ray of hope for those eagerly waiting is arrival to Indian shores. Motorola now says that it will be announcing details related to the Moto G launch in India on February 5, which also means that the highly anticipated device won’t be launched this month.   The tweet reads, “Moto G launch details for India will be announced on February 5. Stay tuned!” The company has mentioned that it will reveal the launch details, so we aren’t sure if the smartphone will be made available in February or later. At the moment, all we have is a date for when we might find out the possible launch date. Seem quite bizarre. [caption id=“attachment_216700” align=“aligncenter” width=“640”] ![Coming to India in February?](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/moto_g_india.jpg) Coming to India in February?[/caption]   The Moto G is a more budget version of the Moto X, and the company has been quite clear about its India launch ever since the smartphone was **unveiled at Sao Paulo, Brazil** , in November. In terms of specs, the Moto G sports a 4.5-inch HD ’edge-to-edge’ display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, amounting to a pixel density of 329ppi, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen. It runs on Android 4.3 and the company has started rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat. Under the hood, the device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (Cortex-A7) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.3-megapixel front shooter and a 2070mAh battery.   The device has already gathered loads of accolades for its performance, build and price. We also learned last week that Motorola is taking a thin-margin approach to the Moto G, which costs Google $123 in terms of component and assembly costs. This means Motorola has an operating profit margin of about 5 per cent for each Moto G sold. So the company is not afraid of making sacrifices to get its phone to more corners. Check out our **specifications review** of the Moto G.
