Motorola Mobility India today launched its Moto M smartphone, a mid-range offering in Motorola’s current lineup of handsets that spans from the budget Moto E3 Power to the premium Moto Z with the Moto Mods. The Motorola Moto M is priced starting from Rs 15,999 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart with sales starting from 14th December.

The handset after being under wraps for long time went official in China back in November. The Moto M comfortably sits between the Moto G4 Plus and the Moto Z Play and clearly seems like a worthy replacement for the Moto X Play keeping its pricing and specifications in mind.

It features a unibody design with a glass front that protects a 5.5-inch Full HD display below it. There’s no Moto Mods compatibility here, so clearly, this smartphone sits below the Mods capable, Moto Z Play.

Inside, you will find a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio P15 octa-core chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The storage is expandable via a microSD card slot.

On the back you get a fingerprint reader with the camera module that sits right above it. The rear camera features a 16MP sensor with Phase detection autofocus system along with a dual LED flash module, while the front-facing unit features an 8MP unit.

You get the usual connectivity options, including support for 4G LTE bands and the device is powered by a 3050mAh battery. The handset runs Motorola’s barebones Android 6.0 Marshmallow implementation and the smartphone somehow missed out on the dust and splash resistant capabilities found on other Motorola smartphones which we guess is thanks to its all-metal body.
