Motorola may launch Moto X (third gen) in September; no plans for a tablet

While some smartphone makers are trying to lessen the time between the release of their flagship devices, Motorola has confirmed to stick to one flagship per year. Rick Osterloh, the Motorola president revealed during a Q&A on Twitter that the company plans to launch its upcoming 2015 Moto X flagship device sometime around September. https://twitter.com/rosterloh/status/580852300698267648 However, no other details about the upcoming device have been disclosed. There is already a lot of speculation about the upcoming Motorola flagship. It is likely to come equipped with the latest generation Snapdragon 810 chipset. There is also the possibility of the smartphone employing an 815 or 820 variant instead. Considering the **Moto X 2014** was launched alongside the second gen Moto G, there is also the possibility that Motorola is working on its successor to be launched in September. https://twitter.com/rosterloh/status/580854863313170433 Besides, on asking about a new tablet from Motorola, he denied of any such plans. In fact, the company pointed towards Lenovo’s Yoga series. The Moto X (second gen) was launched in September last year. In terms of specs, it came equipped with a 2.5GHz Snapdraon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 5.2-inches display with full HD resolution, 13MP rear snapper and 2,300mAh battery.
