Motorola, Flipkart claim that they've sold 3 million Moto smartphones in India

Within a year after Motorola's exclusive partnership with Flipkart in India, At an event held in New Delhi today, the company announced that it has sold over 3 million smartphones in the country so far.

Within a year after Motorola's exclusive partnership with Flipkart in India, the company announced at an event held in New Delhi today, that it has sold over 3 million smartphones in the country so far.

The company sent out a tweet stating that within a period of ten months, they have sold 3 million Moto devices. The devices include Moto E, Moto G, Moto X, Moto G (Gen 2), Moto X (Gen 2) and the Moto 360 smartwatch. The company did not  mention any details about the sales for the Nexus 6.

At the same event, Motorola India GM Amit Boni said the company will soon launch its first exclusive experience zone in Bangalore and will soon follow to other metros in the country. No dates were announced as to when this would take place.  

Flipkart's vice president, retail and head strategic brand alliances, Michael Adnani said that Flipkart started by delivering Motorola devices in 200 cities and have now reached over 1,100 locations and over 1,250 cities with partnerships.

Recently, Motorola revealed three smartphones for return to China following a two-year absence from the most populous mobile phone market.

Motorola, one of China’s earliest mobile phone brands in the 1980s, left the country in 2013 following its acquisition by Google. Beijing-based Lenovo bought the Motorola mobile phone business last year to expand its presence in wireless devices.
