Motorola’s latest Android device the DROID X (CDMA) has been announced for Verizon, packs 8 MP cam and HDMI out.

Verizon Wireless, the US’s largest wireless 3G network and Motorola have just unveiled the DROID X. Like the Droid that came before, the MILESTONE (GSM) version with its 8MP camera, HDMI port et al was announced a little earlier. DROID X is being offered exclusively for now with Verizon as a CDMA device and is quite the same as the MILESTONE XT720. Like the XT720, the DROID X also comes with out the slide out QWERTY keypad.

The new device will be pre-equipped with Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and to run the Android 2.1 OS it has a 1GHz processor. The device will receive a Froyo update a little later as well.

This Android device features -

  • a 4.3-inch touchscreen display sporting an 854 x 480 pixel resolution with multitouch
  • 3G connectivity, as well as 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities (additional $20 per month service)
