Motorola contest suggests Moto 360 smartwatch could cost $249

Motorola is expected to launch the Moto 360 soon, and the company is hosting a promotional contest for the device. Contestants have to design their own watch faces to participate in the contest and the grand prize winner gets a Moto 360. Though there is no word on the price yet, the official rules listed for the game mention the watch costs $24, which translates to  approximately  Rs 14,500.   However, the company states that the actual retail price at launch may change. Besides, nine runner-up winners will receive a $50 Google Play gift card. The rules also mentioned that all winning entries “may be used by Motorola in its sole discretion as a watch face for the Moto 360 and in any marketing, advertising and any other promotional activities.”   Considering the recent track record of Motorola, we aren’t surprised by the relatively low price of the Moto 360. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising if the device is price at an even lower price.   The contest has already begun, and participants can send their entries till June 10. A panel of judges will select a few entries, and then the voting period will begin wherein Google+ winner can vote for their favourite watch-face. Finally, the winner will be declared on June 24. It is essential to be a Google+ account users to enter the contest.   The Moto 360 will be among the series of **smartwatches** that will run Google’s **Android Wear** , the OS crafted especially for smartwatches.
