Moto Z and Moto Z Play along with Moto Mods go on sale at 11:59PM tonight

Lenovo will start selling the newly announced Moto Z range along with the new Moto Mods in India today. The smartphones and the Mods were announced just a couple of weeks back in the country. The Moto Z and Moto Z Play are priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 24,999 respectively and will be available from Flipkart and Amazon tonight at 11:59PM. The Moto Mods will also be available, which include the JBL Soundboost speaker (Rs 6,999), Incipio offGRID battery pack (Rs 5,999), Insta-share projector (Rs 19,999) and the good-looking Hasselblad True Zoom camera module (Rs 19,999). When bundled with a smartphone purchase, the Moto Mods will be available at a reduced price as follows: JBL Soundboost speaker (Rs 5,999), Incipio offGRID battery pack (Rs 4,999), Insta-share projector (Rs 15,999) and Hasselblad True Zoom camera module (Rs 14,999). ![moto-z-play-4](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/moto-z-play-4.jpg) Buyers can also go in for the Style Shells with the Wood and Ballistic nylon shell priced at Rs 1,099 (Rs 899 bundled) or the leather shell at Rs 1,599 (Rs 1,299 bundled) ![moto-mods](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/moto-mods.jpg) As for the phones, the Moto Z features is slim design with a 5.1mm thickness and is made with aircraft-grade aluminium and stainless steel. It feels really sleek but very sturdy. There’s a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display on the front and on the inside there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the back we have a 13MP camera unit that features laser autofocus, OIS and a dual-tone LED flash. The front-facing camera is a 5MP unit and offers a wide-angle lens and a front-facing LED flash as well. The smartphone also features a fingerprint reader on the front similar to that on the Moto G4 series. It also comes with a water-repellant coating. ![moto-z-play-2](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/moto-z-play-2.jpg) Powering all of the above is 2600mAh battery with quick charge support via a USB Type-C connector. There is no 3.5mm audio jack so audio is routed through the USB-C port. Motorola will however include a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box. The Moto Z Play on the other hand is a similar looking device featuring a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display. However due to its large 3,510 mAH battery it is thicker, but retains the 3.5mm audio jack. It is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor along with 3GB of RAM. There is 32GB expandable storage onboard, a 16MP rear camera with laser auto-focus, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, a 5MP front-facing camera, fingerprint scanner, and dual SIM card option. You do get a USB Type-C port but unlike the Moto Z, this smartphone comes with the 3.5mm audio jack. Both the smartphones are very well made. Although they are really glossy, they feel sturdy. The Moto Mods are an excellent addition and make them truly a modular smartphones. If one does plan to buy either of the smartphones, they should make use of the Mods, else there is no point of buying them. Here is our first impressions of the devices.
