Motorola has finally launched its successor to the Moto G , the smartphone that triggered the budget smartphone market in India. For Motorola, the unconventional tie-up strategy worked and it has yet again teamed up with Flipkart to sell the new Moto G at the stroke of midnight today. Let’s take a quick look at the comparison table to see what has changed in the new Moto G:

Now, it isn’t a huge upgrade over the original Moto G, but comes with features that very well places it in the league of the best budget phones. The company has managed to play well with a small yet nifty update at an unbelievable price. It comes with a larger 5-inch display and an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP one on the front, which is a jump from the previous Moto G’s 5MP rear shooter and 1.3MP front camera. It’s a dual SIM phone available in 8GB and 16GB versions. The 16GB variant is priced at Rs 12,999. It should be noted that the previous 8GB variant carried a similar price during its launch. This means the new Moto G 8GB variant could be much cheaper. It runs stock Android and also promises upgrade to Android L, once it is released. Moreover, Motorola is a seasoned OEM over other Chinese brands offering low cost devices. We shall wait and watch how the other players respond now.
