Moto G leak hints at 4.7-inch 720p display, S4 Pro processor

Earlier this week Motorola had accidentally listed the Moto G on its official website, and now prolific tipster @evLeaks has now leaked out some note-worthy specs of the smartphone. The tweet says that the Moto G will sport a 4.7-inch 720p display, and come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz.

The tweet also claims that the handset will offer 8GB and 16GB internal memory variants. Under the hood, it will be fuelled by an LG-made 1950mAh battery. On the camera front, it may come with an 8-megapixel shooter. There is no mention of a front-facing camera, though. Moreover, the tweet says that the Moto G will be free on contract, though, it doesn’t mention any contract prices.

Moto G is free on contract?

We also got our first look at the device in back and white options. Moto G is touted to be a more budget-oriented version of the Moto X, but the features seem pretty decent. It made a brief appearance on the Motorola site, before the company quickly pulled it out. A free handset on contract with such a specs sheet should be a steal, especially considering the upcoming holiday season.

Google had recently slashed the price of the Moto X to $99.99 with a signed two-year contract. The Moto X also sports a similar 4.7-inch 720p display. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, and runs on Android 4.2.2 out-of-the-box. It is also customisable in 504 ways, so there’s a lot to choose from before making a buying choice. There are two options for the front and numerous for the back panel, as well as two panels made out of wood. We wonder if the Moto G will get these customisable options, as well, though there is no word from the company about this yet.
