The new Facebook for Android update is an interesting one – not only has the social networking service added support for HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, and Nexus 4, it has also brought the ability to set Cover Feed on your lock screen if your phone is Home supported.

Cover Feed is possibly one of the most widely loved Facebook Home features, Even if the Android launcher by the social networking giant doesn’t seem to be doing too well for itself, Facebook has decided to bring the much-appreciated feature to the standalone Facebook app. Even if you haven’t downloaded Facebook Home for your high-end phone, you will still be able to set Cover Feed as your lock screen.

You can head on to the application and click on App Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will be able to click on the check-box which lets you see all the stories on your News Feed – complete with images – on your lock screen. You can then press your profile image and drag it to the top to unlock and to the left and the right to bring up the camera or the Messenger.

Since this Cover Feed will be working on top of your default Android skin, you will have to tinker around with your security settings to get the best out of it. The Feed can get a little slow if you have a pattern lock or PIN unlock activated for your phone.

If you’re using Facebook Home on your devices, this Facebook update will also bring the status bar on top of your lockscreen by default. Get the Facebook for Android update from the Google Play Store, especially if you own a Nexus 4, Samsung Galaxy S4 or HTC One. Don’t forget, the Home update comes bundled with the standalone Facebook app update.
