Earlier this month, we learnt that Samsung is working on new member for its Galaxy Grand clan. Now, now more details of the alleged Grand Neo have emerged. GSMArena has got its hands on a leaked internal document that reveals some more specs of the device.

While we knew the Grand Neo will sport a 5-inch display, the leaked document now discloses that it will feature a TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, which is quite disappointing. Further confirming the previously leaked information, the document mentions a 1.2 GHz quad-core A7 chipset with 1GB RAM, that was also found in the Grand 2.

More details of the Neo

The Neo will reportedly come equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It has 8GB of internal memory, which is further expandable via the microSD card slot. The slew of connectivity options include HSPA+ (21Mbps down, 5.76Mbps up), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct,  Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, GPS and GLONASS. There is no word on a 4G variant of the device yet.

Here’s a quick look at the leaked specifications of the Grand Neo

  • 5-inch TFT with 800 x 480 pixels of resolution
  • 3G, Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth v4.0
  • GPS, GLONASS
  • 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera

The Neo will measure 143.7 x 77.1 x 9.6mm, and feature a similar design as seen in the previous Galaxy Grand. It will obviously run on the Android mobile operating system, and the document mentions a rather older version 4.2 Jelly Bean OS with a layer of TouchWiz for the phone. All of this is powered by a 2,100mAh battery.

In Europe it is likely to cost €299, which is approximately Rs 25,300. The smartphone will be available in several colours but there is no word on its availability yet.
