Mitashi has unveiled its new handheld gaming device, and despite the company already having dozens of such devices in stores, this one caught our fancy for one reason: it is based on Android. Dubbed the GameIn Thunder Bolt, the handheld gaming device seems to have quite a bit in common, design-wise, with Sony’s PlayStation Vita. It is India’s first touch-based Android gaming device. The Mitashi GameIn Thunder Bolt is set to cost Rs 6,799.

The gaming device has a 4.3-inch display with multi-touch capabilities. Performance, however, could turn out to be the device’s weakest point, since it is only powered by a 1GHz processor. However, considering the fact that Android games aren’t exactly the most resource-hungry games on the planet, the device should, in theory, serve general gaming and media consumption needs just fine. It is equipped with two cameras—one on the front and one on the back—which allow both general photography and video calling.

Connectivity options start and end with Wi-Fi. Using Wi-Fi, however, games that support multiplayer should work fine, and the presence of physical buttons will undoubtedly prove to be a boon for those who like control-intensive games like the Modern Combat series. The device, since it runs on Android, also has the ability to run typical Android apps, including Facebook, Twitter and Skype. It also has the potential to serve as a competent eBook reader.  Memory needs are handled by 4GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot, allowing one to expand the memory by up to 32GB.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
