Misfit offers waterproof watches, which can be taken for a swim. However, it didn’t really have capabilities to help swimmers. Last year, the company had teamed up with Speedo and now the company plans to bring swim tracking capabilities both trackers – Shine 2 and Ray. Misfit and Speedo have teamed up to launch the Misfit Shine 2 which is said to be a Swimmer’s Edition. According to TheVerge, it’s the same Shine 2 tracker, but will come with swim tracking features. The feature will also come to Ray, and both devices will be getting the new ability in July. The swim tracking feature will be coming to Ray and Shine 2 in the form of an in-app purchase worth $9.99. Both trackers come with water-resistant capabilities up to 50 meters and will now be able to track swim time and lap count. The algorithm used by the company works with all types of strokes. The Shine 2 and Ray both retail for $100, and and the in-app purchase will make it $110. However, it is still cheaper than Shine 2 Swimmer’s Edition retailing for $120. Misfit had introduced three activity trackers in India namely Misfit Shine, Misfit Flash and Misfit Link priced at Rs 5,499, Rs 2,499 and Rs 1,999 respectively last year. All three were sold exclusively on Snapdeal.
