Mirror's Edge 2 support page found on EA's website

There’s some great news for fans of 2008’s experimental game, Mirror’s Edge. If the earlier report of the game being listed on Amazon’s websites wasn’t enough proof for a sequel to the game, it turns out that Mirror’s Edge 2 has its own page on EA’s customer support website. There isn’t any outside link to the page, which was spotted by NeoGAF, but the page is accessible if you can type out the URL. Using the same method for other games that haven’t been announced yet, such as Mirror’s Edge 3, doesn’t work.

A listing for Mirror’s Edge 2 was earlier spotted on Amazon’s Italy website. Before that, it was seen on the company’s Germany website. While the listing has been removed, it has led to a lot of discussion about the game release, as Xbox has announced earlier that it will release 15 exclusive titles for the One console within the first year of launch. However, in the product listing, the release date of the game was put as January 1, 2020, also showing a mocked up version of the game boxart.

Mirror’s Edge made waves in its fan base for the unique first-person Parkour-based gameplay. While it did not make much of an impact as a commercial success, many fans have been praying for a sequel to the game. When the earlier listing came out last week, EA went on record to tell IGN that “we appreciate fan enthusiasm for Mirror’s Edge, especially fans throughout the retail channel. This is not official EA material. We have nothing to announce at this time.”

EA Labels President Frank Gibeau had earlier indicated that Mirror’s Edge 2 could be seen running on DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine, but times have since changed and the game is more likely to be using the updated Frostbite 3 engine.
