This is a considerable jump from April’s 10 million copies milestone. Back then, developer Jeb Bergensten had teased a new feature for the game’s 1.6 update over Twitter. The tease strongly hints towards the addition of horses in Minecraft. This could also lead to players being able to ride horses in the game, thus making exploration faster.

The previous patch, dubbed the Redstone Update, fixed a number of bugs. It also improved how minecarts work and made redstone circuitry more consistent. The patch added a new capacitor block that can help make more complex circuitry with redstone.

The game has been a huge success for Mojang. It was originally released back in 2009 when it was in the alpha stage of development. The game was officially launched in 2011. By the middle of 2012, seven million copies of the game had been sold. On the Xbox 360, the game has surpassed the 6 million downloads milestone since its release in May 2012.

Minecraft is divided into two parts: Survival and Creative. In survival mode, you have to find resources, build shelter and survive. The game is generally peaceful during day time, but when night hits, you have to defend yourself against hordes of zombies, skeletons and spiders.

Creative mode is where you have access to infinite resources and you can build whatever you want. More often than not, creative mode is used to start large-scale projects such as replicating a famous landmark or building giant cities.

You can grab the game for Windows, Mac and Linux from the official website for €19.95 (Rs 1,565 approx). The game also has an Xbox 360 port along with Android and iOS ports, and will be making its way to the Xbox One.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
