Microsoft's Joe Belfiore hints that Office will soon come to Windows Phones

As iOS and Android users enjoy using Microsoft’s Office suite, Windows Phone users feel neglected. But things might change if one were to look at the recent comments made by Joe Belfiore who is the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Operating Systems. Joe Belfiore revealed on his Weibo account (the Chinese equivalent of Twitter) that Microsoft’s Office team is working on getting the application to Windows phone users and that an announcement on the same should be expected ahead of the Chinese New Year. Microsoft is holding an event on 21 January with regard to Windows 10 and the Windows Phone announcement could be made there as well. Belfiore admitted that he has received comments and letters from Windows Phone fans who have expressed frustration when they see Microsoft launch applications like Office for iOS and Android platforms “without accompanying news around what will happen on Windows Phone” reports  Windows Central. Techno Buffalo pointed out that, Belfiore’s post also confirms that Microsoft’s team in China has been writing new features specifically for the Chinese market, which is why the company made this announcement on Weibo, rather than local social media platforms. Recent **reports** suggest that Microsoft is now building an all new browser dubbed Spartan. It will reportedly be based on Microsoft’s Chakra JavaScript engine and Microsoft’s Trident rendering engine, which means it isn’t switching over to WebKit.
