Microsoft's Argo Is Officially Called Zune

Microsoft has probably never had it so good. While admittedly they are facing huge legal issues in Europe the rest of the world is sitting up and taking notice of its various ongoing projects one that has particularly gripped everyone’s fancy is the by now confirmed music player whose project has been code named Argo while the player itself is called the Zune. It was Engadget who first broke the news that is officially to be called Zune. The Zune will have wireless capability that will allow it to have player to player song transfer ability a brushed metal backing and will be available in a variety of colors.

Dailytech reports, “Today, we have word from iLounge that Microsoft has been in direct contact with iPod accessory manufacturers to score licensing deals for its player. iLounge also confirms that Microsoft is willing to offer lower licensing costs compared to Apple’s “Made for iPod” program. Microsoft is likely hoping that lower licensing costs will allow third-party manufacturers to produce just as many accessories for Zune as there available for the range of iPods.”

From the looks of it, Microsoft in its usual aggressive manner is going to leave no stone unturned or no avenue unexplored to make this product a roaring commercial success even if it means rewriting the book completely on Apple.
