Microsoft took the stage and announced many updates, both on software and hardware front. The company announced the next major update to Windows 10, Windows 10 Creators Update on the software front and announced a new Surface Book, ‘Surface Book i7.’ But the most important product launched was Microsoft Surface Studio. The product is a full-fledged desktop with some powerful specs and state-of-the-art design. The product is aimed at all the creators who want to use a powerful machine to create anything from digital art to book to designs to music to games and movies. With Windows 10, Microsoft Surface and the medium of Mixed Reality, we aim to empower the builders, the makers and the creators with the tools to create, collaborate and express themselves in new ways.” Surface Studio comes with 6th Generation Intel Core i7 with a stunning UHD 4.5K 28-inch display with 3:2 aspect ratio powering about 13.5 million pixels. It is the thinnest LCD monitor according to in the world according to Microsoft. The monitor provides “True Scale” with its 192ppi pixel density display where 1mm on the screen equals the 1mm in the real world. This will provide richer colour environment for movie makers and photographer to work in without the need of any extra special display for accurate colour reproduction.
Surface Studio comes with a “Zero Gravity Hinge” which helps the screen transform from Desktop Mode to Studio Mode where it sits at a 20-degree angle. The 20-degree angle is ideal for architects, painters, artists and writers. The Surface Studio is out for pre-order now with a price of $2,999 which translates to Rs 2,00,333. It will be available in limited quantity this year with broader availability early next year. A Surface Pen allows artists, architects, fashion designers and painters to convert their desk into a creative studio. The Surface Studio sits at a 20 degree angle on the desk, and allows professionals to quickly create 3D models using the Surface Pen, and tweak it as per client requirements on the same device. The surface dial is a peripheral device that gives tactile feedback for controlling various parameters. The dial can be attached to the screen at any point. The dial will help creators increase the speed by providing universal control on Windows on the dial according to the application the user is using. In addition, Surface Studio will ship with Surface Keyboard, Surface Pen and Surface Mouse.
