Microsoft in a rare move has decided to skip its normal “Patch Tuesday” security rollout. This move comes at a time, when there 5 documented vulnerabilities that are waiting to be patched.Among the vulnerabilities, the products that are currently exposed are IE7, Officer 2007 Publisher and the Windows Vista OS.
According to various analysts, this deliberate move has taken place to give corporate a break from the rash of patches they have had to deal with the past few months. In January, Microsoft had released a staggering amount of patches i.e. which fixed over 20 vulnerabilities. This poses a significant problem for I.T managers, as in a corporate setting there are many legacy systems that have to be maintained. Quite often large patch rollouts like this, can break or stop these systems.
