Microsoft to release software update to fix Surface Pro 3 battery drain issue

Many Surface Pro 3 users have been complaining about battery drain since May. Now, Microsoft has confirmed that the battery drain issue can be fixed via a software update. A company representative confirmed this through the company’s support forums (via PCWorld), “Based on our investigations we can confirm that it is not an issue with the battery cells. We believe this is something that can be addressed via software.” The problem had left many users wonder whether its the battery issue as battery recalls related to laptops is quite common. Some users were even complaining that their battery doesn’t last even over two hours. However, now it is clear that it isn’t a battery issue rather a software update can fix it. There is no word on when the update will be rolled out to Surface Pro 3 users, but it should be noted that Microsoft’s next Patch Tuesday is on 9 August. This means the update could be round the corner. Earlier in March, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was selling at Rs 58,990 for a limited period via Amazon. The Surface Pro 3 is extremely light at 798 grams and **compares favourably to the Macbook Air in many regards** . The Pro 3 also brings in ease of use with the two-position kickstand that has been improved to bend event at an angle of 150 degrees. It also adds a detachable keyboard, transforming the tablet into a laptop. The Surface Pro 3 also comes with a smart pen which gives you more options than just mouse and keyboard. Now, there are also reports around the company’s plans to discontinue Pro 3 by this year end .
