Microsoft Surface Book 2 launched in two variants with 8th gen Intel processors, Nvidia GPU, starting from $1,499

Two years ago, Microsoft had announced its foray into the hybrid laptop space with the **Surface Book** . Building on the legacy of the **Surface Pro** , the Surface Book was a convertible laptop whose display could be detached from the keyboard, which also housed a battery component. Two years since Microsoft Surface Book 2 has been launched. While it retains the same design language, it comes with completely revamped interiors. Microsoft[/caption] As is the case with most new generation laptops, the Surface Book 2 also comes with the latest hardware specifications. Among the common specs on both the 13.5-inch and 15-inch laptops are: Dolby Atmos sound for headphones, 5 MP front camera and 8 MP rear camera, Bluetooth 4.1 support, 2x USB Type A and 1x USB Type C port, SD card slot, Windows Hello login support, backlit keyboard. While the 13.5-inch model starts at $1,499, the 15-inch models start at $2,499. They will start selling from 16 November onwards. The Surface Book 2 with the 15-inch display comes with a 3240 x 2160 pixel display which gives you a 260 PPI pixel density. It comes with the top end 8th gen Intel Core i7 8650U quad-core processor, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics solution with 6 GB VRAM. The 15-inch Surface Book 2 comes in three SSD storage variants: 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. It measures around 23 mm thick and weighs in at 1.9 kg (and 0.81 kg in the tablet mode). Image: Microsoft[/caption] The Surface Book 2 with the 13.5-inch variant has a 3000 x 2000 pixel display with a 267 PPI pixel density. While the base model comes with a 7th gen Intel Core i5 7300 U processor with 8 GB RAM, the higher end variant sports an 8th gen Intel Core i7 8650U processor with 16 GB RAM. Just like its elder sibling, you get three storage variants. It houses an Nvidia GTX 1050 GPU with 2 GB VRAM. This Surface Book weighs in around 1.64 kg for the high-end model and 1.5 kg for the base model. Just like its predecessor, the Surface Book 2 also comes with a bundled stylus. According to Microsoft, the battery life in the laptop mode is rated at around 17 hours. You can also get the Surface Dial separately.
