Microsoft is now going to sell its Surface Pro tablet at a discounted price from August 4 to August 29. Currently, the official website lists the Surface Pro 64GB variant for $799 (Rs 48,600 approx) and the 128GB variant for $899 (Rs 54,600 approx), which amounts to a $100 (Rs 6,080 approx) discount.
The discount is a result of heavy reductions that the company has been making to its Surface RT prices recently. The $100 discount on the Surface Pro, which results in a 10 percent price-drop, is applicable to both the 64GB and 128GB models.
Recent reports indicate that Microsoft’s Surface RT tablets saw a 30 percent price cut. The company took a $900 million hit due to the Surface RT in the latest quarter. Earlier reports indicated that the company may be looking at refreshed avatars of the Surface RT and the Surface Pro models.

The company is also planning to club a host of new accessories for the Surface tablet, which will include a battery-equipped keyboard cover.
The report has also suggested that new accessory colours could be expected soon. The company has confirmed that customers in Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the US will be able to get their hands on the discounted Surface Pro. While talking about this, the company has said, “We’ve been seeing great worldwide success with Surface RT pricing and keyboard-cover promotions over the past several months and are proud to offer Surface Pro at more affordable prices.”
