Microsoft reportedly working on streaming PC games to Xbox One

With the launch of  Windows 10 , Microsoft also announced that it is working on streaming PC games to Xbox One consoles. Xbox One games streaming to PC has been announced for a while now, and the new announcement now reveals that PC games streaming to Xbox One is also in the works. In an interview with The Verge , Microsoft’s head of Xbox, Phil Spencer said, “We understand if you’re going to go PC to Xbox, we need to get keyboard and mouse working completely so you could play those games.” He adds, “In terms of where we want to go with our platform, those are absolutely in scope of things that we want to do.” A few days ago, in Twitter conversation with a fan, Phil Spencer revealed that the company is working to bring mouse and keyboard support to the current iteration of its console. Previously, the Xbox One is known to support keyboard for the use of basic text inputs. However, the console has never been compatible with the mouse. Though there have been third-party adapters for both PS4 and XBox One, but for the first time the Xbox One will get complete in-house Microsoft integration. There are more complexities streaming PC to Xbox One with the encoding needed compared to Xbox One games to PC. However, Spencer believes that ‘Windows is incredibly strong’. According to Spencer, “It’s actually a little more challenging doing the encoding on the PC side to the Xbox, but challenge is good.” No official date or time frame has been provided as to when the streaming service might arrive. Earlier this year, Microsoft had dropped prices for Xbox 360 base model and was made available for Rs 12,999.
