Microsoft will release a big bunch of bug and vulnerability fixes on the 13th of December, which is just a few days from now. There are 14 security bulletins that covers Microsoft’s Office suite as well as the Windows operating system. Of the 14 bulletins that have been issued, only three of them have been marked as critical. One of the key patches looks at fixing the exploit that the Duqu virus uses. The Duqu virus, which is supposedly related to the Stuxnet worm, was first discovered in early September. The Duqu virus caused some havoc when it spread on the web. The patch should fix this vulnerability in the operating system.

Microsoft is also holding a webinar to explain and answer questions related to the bug fixes on the 14th of December, 2011. Windows 7 has been one of the more secure operating systems from Microsoft in the past decade, or so. Previous versions faced many more issues and the number of open holes and exploits in Windows has drastically reduced, since then. Releasing these patches at once should only make Windows 7 more stable.
