The game has a new feature designed to act like the virtual eyes of a real life trainer. It kicks off with an initial full-body assessment that takes about 15 minutes, and is based on the live input of Nike trainers Marie Purvis and Alex Molden. This evaluation is so detailed, that it can even assesses if the player using the programme has a current injury. Once the assessment is done, players get to create a personalised workout that will work for them, regardless of their fitness level.

Nike+ Kinect Training is aimed towards users looking to recreate the entire gym environment, with a fitness routine right at home, but don’t have the budget or room for it. Players have the option of working out with friends by tapping in to Xbox Live; that lets players challenge and chat with their friends online. Players can also get increase the intensity of the workout by competing in 60-second drills with people across the globe. Inbuilt live stats tell users their fitness status right after this workout.

Nike+ Kinect Training also gives real-time feedback to virtual trainers to track and understand the player’s progress. With this feedback, the trainer automatically adjusts the programme, making it harder or easier in keeping with the performance.  Fitness assessments occur every four weeks to keep the workouts on target. Users can also send friends encouragement via Facebook and through an accompanying Nike+ Kinect Training mobile app.

Commenting on the India roll out of Nike+ Kinect Training, Anshu Mor, Category Lead, Interactive Entertainment Business, Microsoft India, said that, “Nike+ Kinect combines Nike’s knowledge of sports technology and the fitness secrets of great athletes with the powerful technology of Kinect. With this Microsoft & Nike have created a personal training program unlike anything currently available. Kinect becomes the eyes for Nike+ Kinect Training instructors, bringing a new level of engagement and personalization to the program that blurs the lines between a personal training session and a game.”

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
