It is a wireless keyboard that you can use sitting right on a couch or can even carry around with you and it’s built for more those who might want to dispense away with the mouse. A post on the company’s blog talks about the integrated trackpad with multi-touch gesture support. The trackpad supports gesture-based navigation and is Microsoft’s way of giving users a mouse option, without supplying a traditional mouse.

Unlike some of the previous keyboards from Microsoft, this one does not use Bluetooth for connecting with devices around it. Instead it has a USB transceiver slot which is nicely tucked under the keyboard so that it does not stick out like an eye-sore. Thanks to the transceiver you can use the keyboard up to 30 feet away from the transceiver, without losing connection.

The keyboard has hotkeys for music, photos and videos which are located right above the trackpad and it also comes with volume control and mute buttons on the left panel. It’s spill-resistant which means you don’t have to worry about it being fried after you spill coffee or water.
